Canoeing, night game drives, and walking safaris are just a few of the exciting activities that will be part of this unforgettable Botswana’s Khwai River And Linyanti trip for families with children older than seven who are looking for an adventurous getaway.

You will spend three nights in a roomy family house at Khwai Leadwood after a scenic flight from Maun to the Khwai River in the northern Delta. Following that, you will be transported by air to Chobe National Park’s Linyanti Channel for an additional three nights of thrilling and genuine Khwai River And Linyanti safari in this portion of Botswana known for its abundance of elephants.

The Khwai River defines the boundary of Moremi Game Reserve, the sole region of the enchanting Okavango Delta that is formally maintained and protected. The reserve is famous for its excellent and consistent sightings of wild dogs. At the camps, your guide will point you frogs, migrating birds, and unique animals like sitatunga and lechwe, which are antelope that have adapted to the marshes of Southern Africa. From the air, you can see Botswana in a whole new light, even on the flights between camps. The Okavango, for example, is far larger and more diverse than you would have imagined.

Detailed Khwai River And Linyanti Itinerary

Days 1 – 3: From Maun to Khwai River | 3 Nights Moremi Game Reserve, Botswana

Camp Moremi | Moremi Game Reserve

Pick up at Maun Airport and a short flight in a light aircraft will take you and your family to Khwai Leadwood in Botswana’s Moremi Game Reserve. This area is famous for its fantastic sightings of wild dogs. There has been a gradual increase in the number of packs protecting these lively and often misunderstood black-and-gold canids, which contributes to their dwindling numbers.

A network of wooden pathways links the elevated tents at this camp, which is situated in a leadwood and fig woodland beside the Khwai River. With furnishings reminiscent of the romantic age of Hemingway’s safaris, your tent exudes an air of total seclusion.

In addition to the usual game drives into Moremi, you can also go birding, go on night drives to see animals at night, and visit a local town to meet the locals. Your days here will be jam-packed with exciting activities. On exciting nature hikes, your guide will also take you to see animals like giraffes and antelopes munching away in peace.

Days 4 – 6: From Khwai River to Linyanti | 3 Nights Linyanti, Botswana

Linyanti Waterfront – Botswana : Overview

Returning to the airfield for the brief flight to the Linyanti Channel is imminent, and we will soon say farewell to the welcoming personnel at Khwai Leadwood. The Saile Airstrip is the starting point for a family road journey to the little camp of Linyanti Ebony, which is located close to the verdant Caprivi Strip and has just four tents. The spacious family tent awaits you once again; this time, it features an en suite bathroom with a tub, perfect for relaxing in after a day of strolling the safari. Also, there’s a pool where you can cool yourself in the afternoon sun like the local hippos do.

While you’re here, you should also check out the beautiful Linyanti Channel’s wetlands. The conventional method to see the Delta is on a mokoro (traditional canoe) journey, and there is a stable raptor population to be discovered.

You can genuinely “get away from it all” at Linyanti Ebony, which provides a digital detox by eliminating Wi-Fi and mobile phones (albeit there is a charging station for camera batteries). The three nights spent in solitude, accompanied only by the sound of a fish eagle’s call or a breathtaking sunrise, will allow you and your loved ones to return to Maun for your journey home feeling rejuvenated.

Day 7: Homeward Bound

On your final morning, after breakfast, you will be charter flown to Maun Airport for your onward travel plans. We want to welcome you back again soon!
