A Breathtaking Bat Migration Safari in Kasanka National Park

Every year from October to December, a small area of evergreen swamp forest in Northern Zambia’s Kasanka National Park is invaded by almost 10 million straw-colored fruit bats. Because of this phenomena, which is exclusive to Kasanka, visitors have the opportunity to see a wide variety of birds in their native habitat, which is complemented by breathtaking scenery and dramatic skies.

One of the most breathtaking natural wonders, the Bat Migration Safari is an event no one should miss! The bats themselves are remarkable, but what really gets people excited is the environment around them. As the summer rains approach, the skies become dramatic, and raptors like crowned and martial eagles soar through the bats, catching them in their wings. And of course, there are always the usual Kasanka specials, like the rare sitatunga grazing in the morning misty dambos. To the genuine safari fan, it is paradise on earth.
