Gorilla Watching in Uganda, Rwanda And Congo
With an estimated 600–700 individuals now living in the wild, mountain gorillas are among the most imperilled species on Earth. Each of these majestic animals lives in a tiny troop, with a single dominant male (the Silverback) leading a group of females and their young inside clearly delineated territories. In contrast to their lowland forest and open plains-dwelling relatives, mountain gorillas typically inhabit elevations between 1500 and 3650 meters.
We provide mountain gorilla tracking experiences in two locations: Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park in Uganda and Parc National des Volcans in Rwanda, home to the Virunga range.
There is a daily limit of six people per habituated gorilla family group at both sites for gorilla tracking. Gorilla sightings are never guaranteed, but with the help of professional trackers and park rangers, you should have no trouble finding the families because they are monitored every day.
