After dinner, you will return to the lodge for your last meal before retiring for the night.

Day 2: Activities at Lower Zambezi Valley

Safari Activities in the Lower Zambezi with Chiawa Camp

To kick off the day, we’ll have breakfast. Then, we’ll have your choice of activities: walking safaris, fishing, canoeing safaris, boating, village walks, tours of banana plantations, or sunset cruises. After that, we’ll head back to the lodge for lunch.

After some downtime, it’s time for afternoon tea. Then, it’s off to the boat for a sunset sail and dinner before heading back to the resort for the night.

Day 3: Full Day Game Drive Safari in Lower Zambezi

After breakfast, we will set out with our knowledgeable guides to explore Lower Zambezi National Park.

Guests staying at Kanyemba Lodge for at least three nights can take advantage of our full-day wildlife drives because of our location, which is approximately 45km outside of Lower Zambezi National Park. Embark on a boat voyage (about 1 ½ hours) from the lodge to the Conservation Lower Zambezi (CLZ) base camp first thing in the morning. Upon arrival, you will be transferred to an open-top wildlife drive vehicle.

Our goal for the entire day is to spot various animals and birds in the National Park, as well as the “big five”—elephant, buffalo, lion, and leopard—through out the park’s many loops. Following your picnic lunch, you will leisurely make your way to CLZ. From there, you will be transferred to the boat for the two-hour journey back to the lodge, where you will arrive at approximately 6 pm. Sit back, relax, and then eat dinner and go to bed whenever it’s convenient for you.

Our car does not have any shade from the park’s greenery, so bring a long-sleeved shirt—especially if you’re fair-skinned. Everyone is asked to wear neutral-colored attire. For trips to national parks, children must be at least 12 years old.

Day 4: Departure

After breakfast, you will either have a late morning or early afternoon departure to Lusaka International Airport, depending on your travel schedule.
