Buhoma Lodge Bwindi

What makes Buhoma special

In Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, Buhoma Lodge is a real traveler favorite for those going on gorilla treks. Its prime position, just 5 minutes from the Buhoma trailhead, is its most distinguishing quality. Although it lacks the same sense of elegance as other lodging alternatives at the Buhoma trailhead such Volcanoes Bwindi Lodge or Sanctuary Forest Camp, the lodge nevertheless has a unique personality, and the service is excellent.

Like every lodging option in Bwindi, the staff goes above and beyond to ensure that your stay is comfortable before and after your gorilla walk, and massages and laundry service are complimentary. A straightforward but endearing and lovely lodging that almost never falls short.

Rooms & Amenities

There are ten chalets for guests to stay in, and each one has an own veranda with stunning views of the forest, huge windows, and an en suite bathroom. The chalets are constructed on elevated platforms, giving them a treehouse-like appearance. This gives them a superb vantage point from which to take in the views of the vast forest beyond. The chalets include double or twin beds and are a respectable size. A two-bedroom family cottage is also available.

The main structure is made of wood and thatch, and it has a cozy dining and lounge area as well as a restaurant and bar that serve delectable meals.

Activities at Buhoma Lodge

Even if mountain gorillas did not live in Bwindi, its isolation, breathtaking scenery, and fascinating biodiversity would draw tourists. The most popular tourist attraction in Uganda is Bwindi because of those amazing giant apes.

Beyond the gorillas, Bwindi has some amazing opportunities for forest hikes, the wildlife is astounding in its diversity and extends far beyond just the gorillas, and spending time with the locals and learning about their culture and connection to the forest is fascinating.
