Detailed Itinerary: 7 Days Bwindi And Lake Mburo Safari

Day 1: Flight Transfer to Bwindi Forest National Park

Take an early-morning flight to Bwindi Forest National Park to begin the epic private and exclusive tour. You will be transported by car to Clouds Mountain Gorilla Lodge after a two-hour flight to Kisoro. While the journey to Clouds is breath-taking and gives you a sense of the mountain gorilla, the flight to Kisoro is picturesque over rolling hills. Prepare for the next day’s gorilla trekking trip by enjoying the remainder of the day at leisure.

Day 2 & 3: Mountain Gorilla Trekking & Batwa Experience


Gorilla Trekking in Uganda’s Bwindi Impenetrable Forest

The time has come for the ultimate wildlife experience. You will be escorted to the briefing location this morning, and then you will begin the trip into the bush to see the mountain gorillas. You will descend into the jungle in search of the gorillas with a packed lunch, a personal porter, and a ranger guide to assist with carrying your gear. After spending an hour with them once you’ve located them, you’ll head back to the inn. On Day 3, you will go to the Batwa Community—the guardians of the forest—to hear about their traditional way of life, which included living with gorillas in Bwindi before they were expelled and before UNESCO designated the forest as a world heritage site. The day is roughed up by a private, exclusive Sundowner in the evening and a well-lit campfire.

Day 4: Road Transfer to Lake Mburo National Park.

After a leisurely breakfast this morning, go to Lake Mburo National Park by road in a cozy private safari landcruiser. With midway stops, the driving time is – or +-5 hours. Visit a local home for an actual local lunch midway through our journey. A lunch made for you at a local home and in an African environment will help you understand more about life and culture in Africa. Proceed to Lake Mburo later and make it to the Mihingo lodge on time. A private sundowner on the rock kopges and the remainder of the day at leisure.

Day 5 & 6: Lake Mburo National Park

Enjoy a laid-back morning with a bush breakfast today in the Lake Mburo National Park. Continue your game drive until lunchtime, then head back to the resort. Part-time at the resort to unwind or take advantage of the lodge’s pool. Afternoon game drive followed by a night game drive in the park to look for the elusive leopard. In this park, there is a lot of animals at night. Return to the lodge.

You will embark on a two-hour horseback safari in the park with a private horse guide on the second morning, following a leisurely breakfast. Later, go back to the lodge and spend the afternoon there relaxing. After dark, join a ranger guide on a walking safari to get up close and personal with Lake Mburo’s animals. In time for dinner, return to the lodge.

Day 7: Road Transfer to Entebbe

this morning Transfer to Kampala via road in a private safari landcruiser. A stopover at the equator is included in the 5-hour drive. You will either arrive at your lodge or travel to Entebbe Airport to catch your connecting flight home, depending on the specifics of your journey.
