Along the way, you’ll stop for coffee or tea and snacks. After that, you’ll keep on game viewing the incredible wildlife of the Luangwa Valley.

Then you’ll be back at the camp for lunch and some downtime to relax, during which you can take a nap, take a stroll around the grounds, swim in the pool, or play backgammon in the living room. Afterwards, you’ll have some African tea or coffee with some cakes. Then, it’s time for an afternoon or evening drive. At sunset, you can relax and have some sundowner drinks and snacks. Then, you’ll keep driving into the night so you can see animals that are active at night, like a pride of lions, a pack of wild dogs, or even the elusive leopard. You will return to the campsite just in time for supper and nightfall.

Day 3: Game Viewing /Kawaza Cultural Village

After breakfast, you’ll head off for a morning game drive safari in South Luangwa National Park. After a brief break for tea, your safari will continue for another four hours. After you return to camp, you will have the opportunity to check out and then be transferred to Kawaza Village for an immersive cultural and traditional experience.

You will get a genuine glimpse into Kunda life from this. This is an exciting journey; it gives you a real feel for rural Africa!

You will be welcomed by the village guide, who doubles as the manager of the tourism initiative, upon your arrival at Kawaza village. Upon arrival, he will show you to your traditional mud-and-grass-roofed room (thatched). After that, you’ll have lunch on the house, so you may sample some local specialties.

After lunch, you’ll meet some locals and be invited to pick an activity you’re interested in. You will be given a thorough tour of the school and its facilities before visiting the local clinic. If time permits, you may also meet a local healer, who can fill you in on the various medicinal uses of herbs.

Get a feel for real Africa by helping out with some of the village’s everyday tasks, such making beer, grinding corn, drawing water from the well, and harvesting maize in the fields.

The villagers will put on a performance complete with drumming, dancing, and theater after a traditional evening meal. The most skilled storytellers will regale those gathered around the fire with the ancient and spectacular Kunda tales. You are welcome to go to bed whenever you like.
